Ten Months in the Life of Levi

Ten months really took me by surprise! And I think it's because Levi hasn't changed much in the last month. He's really not quite big enough or mobile enough (still!) to be ten months, but he just likes doing things his own way!

Growth & Development
  • Clothing size: 9 mo.
  • Diaper size: 3/4

Likes
  • Strings and aglets
  • Slightly spicy food
  • Cheese (Wisconsin baby!)
  • Spoons, forks, cups
  • Riding on our shoulders
Dislikes
  • Minestrone soup
  • Being held by strangers
  • Normal dislikeable things ... being lonely, being cold, being tired
Fun Facts
  • When he was first exposed to snow, he seemed interested in touching it and seeing how it felt to hold in his hand, but when his hands got cold he was very much done with it.
  • He's tried all the major food allergens except for fish and shellfish and, so far, has had no problems!
  • He understands the concept of drinking an open cup, but if there's a lot of water in the cup, he'll spill it everywhere or accidentally pour it up his nose. He's does pretty well with a Miracle 360 sippy cup too (hooray for healthy orthadontal development blah blah blah).
  • His hair is getting long; I think he looks a little like a hobo baby sometimes. But I kind of want to see how long it can get by his first birthday before cutting it.
  • Babbles a lot, possibly babbling in sign language too.
At a friend's birthday party :)
Eating
He's eating solids 3x a day and breastmilk 3x a day. We've been roughly following this advice about letting baby feed himself early on, but not all the time because holy mess Batman. He can eat pretty much anything you don't need teeth for (anything you can squish between two fingers), broken into small pieces. Our go-to foods are bits of cheese, plain Cheerios, sweet potato fries, plain yogurt+peanut butter+banana (thanks to Kayly for the idea!), cut up pears, beans, rice, avocado, and baby food. He has a tendency to stuff too much food in his mouth and then throw up. :(

Sleeping
His sleeping has regressed a little bit, so I'm experimenting with lengthening his waketimes a bit during the day. He usually sleeps from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. and is still on two naps.
