Four Months in the Life of Levi

Levi is continuing to get a bit more predictable, we're all learning so much, and we're starting to see his personality more!

Growth & Development

• Clothing size: some 3 month, some 3-6 month
• Diaper size: 2
• Weight: ? Hasn't had his check-up yet, maybe 13 pounds? *UPDATE* 12 lbs. 15 oz. (4th %ile); 24 inches (6th %ile)
• Rolls front to back
• Developing his grasping skills!
• The doctor says to expect him to be behind a bit since he was born early, but so far he's doing all the things a normal 4-month-old would be expected to do!

Likes

• His activity gym
• When Mommy signs to him
• Playing with tissue paper
• Kicking his legs
• Lightweight toys that rattle and are easy to grasp

Dislikes

• Being held by some people he has decided he Does Not Like
• Rubbing his face on Daddy's scruffy cheek
• Being eaten and kicked by his friends. But I mean, that's all they know how to do right now...

Fun Facts

• He hasn't learned to laugh yet, but I think that's part of his personality. He's a happy baby, but more of a quiet one. He doesn't talk or smile a ton; he likes to observe and think.
• Most common comments: "He looks like a perfect baby!" and "His eyes are so bright!"
• When he's frustrated, he coughs.
• He's kind of drooly.
• We got a baby carrier for Tygan (Onya Baby brand) and Levi seems to like it pretty well.

Breastfeeding

We've got a good groove going on. His spitting up is gradually decreasing, but I'm not sure if that's due at all to my half-hearted dietary changes or if it's just his digestive system maturing. He usually does okay when I use a cover but sometimes gets fussy with it.

Sleeping

He's been doing great! He usually goes to bed around 8:30 p.m. and wakes up once around 5 a.m. to eat. Sometimes he wakes up at around 2 a.m., though, and we give him a pacifier or re-swaddle him if he's come loose. His napping has gotten way better; he'll often take 1-2 hour naps, four times a day. I'm really nervous for the 4-month sleep regression.

• Seeing how much he weighs at his appointment! The internet says babies usually double their birthweight by 5 months, but we think Levi did that a long time ago!
