Levi turned nine months two days ago! I feel like at some point his cuteness will have to plateau, but at the moment I feel like he just gets cuter and cuter.
Growth & Development
- Clothing size: 6-9 mo., 9 mo.
- Diaper size: 4
- Makes more consonant sounds (ba, da, ga)
- Beginning to self-feed
Likes
- Almost all baby food, as well as finger foods
- Watching people
- Blowing raspberries
- Touching the Christmas tree
- Grabbing things and putting them in his mouth <-- this appears to be his main goal in life
- Especially cords, strings, and dangerous things
Dislikes
- When more mobile babies smack him the face, sit on him, or steal his toys
- Being held by strangers, sometimes
Fun Facts
- He doesn't crawl or say any words consistently. That's within the range of normal, but it might also be due to him being born a month early too.
- He did his first 5k on Thanksgiving! Daddy pushed him in the stroller.
- He is currently dealing with his first bad cold :( I don't think really understands what's happening to him and it's sad. Our cool mist humidifier seems to be helping a lot, and he puts up fairly well with the bulb aspirator we've been using.
- His two little bottom teeth are SHARP. I can't let him play with my fingers any more. He covers his teeth with his tongue when he smiles, so I don't have any pictures of his teeth.
- He looks great in hats.
Eating
We quickly moved through mashes of food and are onto soft table foods! We started with sweet potato fries, and he's also had rice, scrambled egg, peas, and beans. He isn't always successful at grabbing small bits of food on his own, but he enjoys feeding himself as much as he can. We've replaced one nursing session with solids, so he's breastfeeding 4x/day and eating solids 2x/ day.
Sleeping
He's still sleeping through the night and has dropped his third nap entirely. We get ready for bed at 7:30 and he wakes up around 6:30 or 7.
